The ICC World Cup 2011 will be organized jointly by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the locations of these countries have concluded.
Originally, Pakistan were also co-hosts with some matches to be held in that country. Under the plan, the limited participation of Bangladesh to host the opening ceremony.
In April 2006, citing security concerns, the Court decided not to allow Pakistan to host a round of World Cup despite that kept Pakistan as a co-host.
Pakistan tried to salvage the situation by stating that the parties assigned to be held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, rather than in Pakistan.
When that did not move, Pakistan sought to save face by demanding that the event will be held in Australia and New Zealand had also conducted for the World Cup.

Three venues have been named in Sri Lanka, which will host some matches and a semifinal group. In addition to Colombo and Kandy, Galle, is the third location that will host during the tournament.
Colombo matches will be played at Premadasa Stadium, which has a capacity of 35,000.
The Premadasa will host five matches in Group A, including a game Sri Lanka Vs Pakistan to be its first attraction of the World Cup on March 10, 2011.
The Premadasa also be the proud host of the fourth and a semifinal on March 24 and 29, 2011, respectively.
New stadiums are being built in Kandy and Galle. The Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy construction will, as the Premadasa in Colombo, has a capacity of 35,000.
This stadium will host three games in Group A, starting with a meeting Pakistan Vs New Zealand on 8 March 2011.
