ICC World Cup 2011 - Pakistan Likely Team

It is always an interesting exercise to be analyzed in a Pakistan team for any party because there is a high turnover of players, thanks to a cricket setting that seems to thrive on the drama, at least to an outsider.

A source in the know, you could probably correct me and say that the real blame is another, but the net result is not enough.
Not too long ago players, high, and Khan Younis and Yousuf were held Maryland.

Suddenly, after a disastrous tour of Australia, a lot of players 'no' and some were "a fine or suspension.

This is a tragedy for the game of cricket because the quality teams are so few in number, and the International Criminal Court and its support organizations in the major countries playing cricket strive to make the game more popular than their limited circle.

So we can not afford to mess up a team that has so much talent and has made an enormous contribution to the heritage of the game.

But things are improving now, with a recorded test victory over Australia a week ago for a youth team. That victory came after 15 long years, and 13 defeats against the Kangaroos.

Also, Pakistan has been performing relatively better in the shorter version of the game, and the lower T20 have a semifinal, two finals and a title to show the three issues that have played in the measure.

So here I go with my list of 14 players I think will be in the Pakistan squad for ICC World Cup in 2011:

Salman Butt, Imran Nazir Ali Azhar, Amin Omar, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal, Abdul Razzak, Maryland Aamer, Md. Asif, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal and Imran Farhat.

You might be surprised not to see Shoaib Akhtar in this list. I think Pakistan is better off without him. They also have enough players, so I added a batter Imran Farhat extra.

Some may prefer Kaneria, but I think Ajmal has been more consistent in recent times.

Another name that may surprise you could be Imran Nazir. I do not know why the explosive batsman not being given more opportunities.

I have included Azhar Ali in the strength of temperament displayed on the evidence of Australia.

Omar Amin given a batting all-rounder. Razzaq and Malik Old horses are there to experience.

I refer back to this list when the real team that was announced in February. I can hardly wait, right?

PS December 7: This article was published in July 2010

Much water has flowed under the bridge since July, and the current Pakistan team is completely different. In these circumstances, the following players have automatic selection:

Mohd. Hafeez, Khan Y, Misbah, Umar Akmal, Afridi, Razzaq, Yusuf Ajmal, Maryland, Akhtar

For the other five players (to complete the list of 14), I would opt for Shahzaib Hassan, offering an additional option for maintenance, M Alam, Mallik (by experience), Gul (if not on the black list) and any young, like other Wahab Riaz (although I would like more opportunities to Imran Farhat).

Knowing Pakistan, I think this list will undergo some changes before and during the World Cup ;-)
